First time we hung one of these on a glass building, the foreman didn't believe the weight until he picked it up. 6.9kg for the 1000×1000. He was used to steel cabinets-45kg plus. Same size, seven times the weight.

That changes things on site. You don't need a crane for a start. Two guys can carry a dozen up a ladder. You don't need to reinforce curtain wall mullions. The building doesn't know it's there.

The screen is transparent-LED strips with gaps between them-so daylight still comes through the glass. And it's IP65, so rain doesn't matter. We've had these running on building facades in Shanghai, Singapore, and Dubai. The die-cast aluminum cabinets come in 1000×1000 and 1000×500. Same system, two sizes.

 Two Sizes – When to Use Which

1000×1000 – 6.9kg. 8 modules per cabinet. This is your workhorse for large flat walls. Fewer boxes to hang, fewer cables to chase.

1000×500 – roughly 4kg. 4 modules. This one is for curves, tight corners, or any job where you're working at height and want a smaller box to handle.

You can mix them. Same module size (250×500), same thickness (68.9mm), same quick-lock system. The seam stays straight across the wall even if you switch sizes.

A few details that matter on site:

Modules are hot-swappable. You don't have to kill the whole wall to replace one. The quick-lock system works from front or rear-whichever side you have access to. Positioning pins align the cabinets so you don't get a crooked seam halfway up the wall. Accessories included: 2 positioning pins, 1 door panel, 4 quick locks, 1 flat plate connector per cabinet.

Pixel Pitches – What Works Where

P3.91 – tightest pitch. People stand within 4-6 meters. Retail facades, luxury storefronts. It reads like an LCD at that distance. More LEDs per area, so transparency is a bit lower.

P7.8 – the middle one. 10-20 meters viewing distance. Mall facades, building exteriors where you're not right up against it. Best balance of cost and quality for most projects.

P10.4 – widest pitch. 15-30 meters. Highway visibility, big walls, budget-conscious jobs. Most transparent of the three because the gaps are bigger. The resolution doesn't matter from that distance anyway.

We usually tell people: pick the widest pitch you can get away with at your viewing distance. You save money and get more transparency. Don't buy resolution you don't need.

 Projects

Shanghai – 40% increase in foot traffic

Glass curtain wall. Luxury brand storefront. They wanted digital signage on the exterior but the building wasn't designed for heavy screens.

We used 1000×1000 cabinets, P7.8. 6.9kg each. The glass held it without additional steel. Inside, daylight came through the gaps. Outside, full-color content running 14 hours a day.

The design director: "You don't notice it from inside. From outside, it's the first thing you see."

Foot traffic at that storefront went up about 40% in the months after install. Five days on site. Steel-screen estimate they'd gotten was two weeks.

Singapore – They wanted a curve, didn't want to pay for custom

Mall facade. Gentle curve-not tight enough to require custom cabinets, but too much for standard flat ones without gaps.

We mixed sizes. 1000×1000 on the flat sections, 1000×500 on the curve. The half-size boxes followed the radius without breaking the line. Same modules, same depth, same finish. The curve looks continuous.

The ops director: "You can't tell where flat stops and curve starts."

No custom tooling charges. No extended lead time. Cost came in about 15% under the custom-curved quotes they'd gotten from other suppliers.

Dubai – 50°C summer, two years, no failures

Car showroom. Highway adjacent. They needed something visible at speed and light enough for a building that was already at capacity.

P10.4-widest pitch, best for long distances. 1000×1000 cabinets. 6.9kg each. About 100m² total.

The owner: "We went with the biggest pitch to keep the cost down. It reads fine from the highway. And the weight saved us from reinforcing the building."

Two Dubai summers later-50°C plus, direct sun-still running. No module failures.

Europe – Tight curve, half-size cabinets, standard product

Expo pavilion. Tight radius on the exterior. They'd been told custom curved cabinets were required. Six to eight weeks delivery. Tooling costs.

We used 1000×500 cabinets across the curve. Half the height tracks the radius smoother. Same P7.8 modules as the rest of the wall. Same quick-lock system. Standard product, no custom tooling.

The project manager: "Our install crew finished in half the time they budgeted. No custom, no extra lead time."

Three weeks from order to done. About 12% under the custom quote.

 Some Questions from Site

Which cabinet size should I order?

Flat wall, big area-1000×1000. Faster install. Curve or tight corners-1000×500. Or both. We've done projects with both sizes on the same wall.

Can I mix the two?

Yes. Same module, same depth, same locks. The seam stays flush.

Does it really hold up outside?

IP65. Dust-tight, water-jet proof. We've had units in Singapore monsoon and Dubai summer. No rain failures.

What does the half-size actually weigh?

About 4kg. You can carry one in one hand. The 1000×1000 is 6.9kg. Two hands.

How does the transparent part work?

LED strips with gaps between them. Light from inside the building passes through. Outside you get video. Inside you get daylight. More transparency with wider pitch because there's more gap.

What if a module fails?

Swap it live. Screen stays on. Quick locks, one person, no tools.

Lead time?

15-20 working days for standard configs. Custom sizes add 5-10 days.

Does the half-size follow a tighter curve than the full-size?

Yes. Smaller frame tracks the radius more smoothly. On gentle curves, both work.
