An advertising LED display screen is an electronic display board that uses light-emitting diode (LED) technology to deliver dynamic, eye-catching advertising content. Unlike traditional static billboards, these screens are installed in outdoor or semi-outdoor environments-central business districts, transport hubs, shopping areas, and landmark intersections-to deliver brand messaging through video, animation, and real-time content.

Pixel Pitch (mm)
Definition: The center-to-center distance between adjacent LED pixels, measured in millimeters. This is the single most important specification - it determines minimum viewing distance, resolution at a given screen size, and cost.
Brightness (nits / cd/m²)
Technical note: Brightness is not a static spec. Look for:
Auto-brightness adjustment via ambient light sensor - reduces power consumption at night and extends LED life
Grayscale performance at low brightness - cheap drivers lose color depth when dimmed; quality systems maintain 14-16 bit grayscale even at 10% brightness


Refresh Rate (Hz)
If your display will ever be photographed or filmed (and advertising displays almost always are), specify minimum 3,840 Hz refresh rate. The cost delta between 1,920 Hz and 3,840 Hz is modest (~5-8% on the receiving card/driver IC), and the difference is immediately visible on any smartphone camera.
IP Rating (Ingress Protection)
For outdoor advertising, IP65 front / IP54 rear is the industry minimum. Verify that the rating applies to the assembled cabinet, not just the module face - water ingress at cabinet seams is a leading cause of outdoor display failure.

LED Configuration & Viewing Angle
SMD (Surface-Mount Device): Most common. Single package contains R, G, B chips. Wider viewing angle (140-160°), better color uniformity. Standard for P1.2-P10.
DIP (Dual In-line Package): Older technology. Individual R, G, B lamps. Higher brightness, narrower viewing angle (100-110°). Still used for some P10+ outdoor applications where extreme brightness matters more than viewing angle.
GOB (Glue-On-Board): SMD + protective resin coating. Adds impact resistance and waterproofing. Recommended for rental/staging and floor displays.
